First stop was Napier where we had a most wonderful brunch/lunch type stopover. Abbu's stomach would not allow us to postpone this most important event any longer.
Ai boys - the pretty girls are BEHIND you!
Must agree, pretty bikes too though...
Off again - next stop Agulhas!
We went all the way to the lighthouse - by some fluke I was actually the first to arrive for a change...apparently destination 'Agulhas' translated to 'Arniston' to the rest of the group....maybe fast bikes kills brains :)...
Really fast biker chick arrives.
Followed - eventually - by Andy, as (Taryn quote) she goes "around cars, while Andy goes - well, behind them." Hehehe.
Really fast Scott arrives - normal people stop in FRONT of the lawn! LOL
Wes and Stacey - next time Stacey will not be on the back anymore!
Sheesh we really do manage to spread out and claim land...
Sea view from the lighthouse.
On the way back we stopped over at Hermanus for a nice drink and snack on the beach front, where a very cool marimba band put out some tunes - no wait, rhythms!
On the beach road en-route Gordon's Bay back we stopped a couple of time to take some pics and also to just rest my wrists which were taking a bit of strain. We did not stop long though as we soon noticed that the wind is actually worse off than on the bike!
Marc in the distance waiting for me.
Lovely view of the bay.
View of Gordon's Bay - as you can see from the water, the wind was howling.
Off again for the home-stretch.
I must admit I was absolutely finished when we got back home, but it was a great day. Now my muscles just need to recover!
There wasn't any link to post a comment after the Xmas gathering post so this is it:
ReplyDeleteFirst off - Marc, I think it's time you sent me the recipe for that mushie sauce so I can re-create my favourite brekkie here in Aus - to always be had with bubbly, I promise!
WOW! Christmas looked like great fun - I loved the video of the "song" - plenty of la! la! la! going on - excellent! It looked extremely festive compared to our little 2-person celebrations. Please send love, hugs & kisses to the Nussey clan when next you see them!
So what was in the little silver shiny pressie???
Jeez! Long ride! Well done! I would've had a hard time with that wind on the Rooi Els / Gordons Bay road - I know how it can pump along there cos we had holiday houses in both Rooi Els and Pringle Bay when I was growing up.
ReplyDeleteNow how on earth did the guys end up in Arniston???? It's not rocket science boys - road signs - they're very useful sometimes..... Did you go up into the lighthouse at all?
Wow, I just realised that you must have ridden right past our favourite getaway - Langrug Lodge. Well, you would've driven past the farm entrance anyway. It's about mid way between Bredasdorp and Agulhas.
Good to see pics of Hermanus - my folks have got the Onrust house on sale. Hopefully with all the visitors down there, they'll be able to sell quickly and my dad can retire. Hold thumbs!
